| Recap | For the first time, I presented HEADS & HANDS @inc.artfair in Hamburg in 2024. The response was overwhelming—deeply felt, far-reaching. Since then, the series has become an inseparable thread in my artistic practice. Alongside paintings on canvas, I have also shown sketches—quickly born in waiting rooms, in the in-between moments of my child’s therapy. _________ Zum ersten Mal habe ich HEADS & HANDS im Jahr 2024 in Hamburg auf der @inc.artfair präsentiert. Ich rücke Gesichter und Hände in den Fokus – sie erzählen von Nähe, Liebe, Fürsorge und Verletzlichkeit, ganz ohne Worte. Geprägt von meinen persönlichen Erfahrungen mit meinem nonverbal kommunizierenden autistischen Sohn, ist diese Arbeit für mich eine sehr intime und berührende Auseinandersetzung mit der stillen Sprache von Gestik und Berührung. | bed time story | It’s pride month - I‘ve got a queer love story for you 🌈 „bed time story“ is a visual tale of closeness, desire, and connection. Two women, captured in a moment of tender intimacy - between light and shadow, between waking and dreaming. The viewer becomes a quiet voyeur, peeking through an imaginary keyhole, witnessing a moment never meant to be seen. A queer love story - both sensual and vulnerable - that breaks with convention and opens space for new perspectives on intimacy. _________ „bed time story“ ist eine visuelle Erzählung über Nähe, Begehren und Verbundenheit. Zwei Frauen, eingefangen in einem Moment zarter Intimität - zwischen Licht und Schatten, zwischen Wachsein und Traum. | naked night swim | Auf den ersten Blick eine Aktserie. Doch ihre Bedeutung reicht tiefer. Nach einer Trennung fand ich mich in einem Zustand des Kopflosen, Schutzlosen, Farblosen wieder - nackt, ohne Halt. Die Perspektive unter Wasser: der Körper treibend, der Kopf verborgen. Schwarz-weiß. Entblößt - und dadurch unweigerlich bloßgestellt. Diese Serie ist weniger Abbild des Körpers als vielmehr Spiegel eines inneren Zustands. Sie erzählt vom Gefühl, sich selbst zu verlieren, und von dem paradoxen Trost, den die Dunkelheit schenken kann: getragen zu werden, auch wenn Orientierung fehlt. Ich habe sie gemalt, weil ich wieder atmen wollte. Den Kopf über Wasser bekommen wollte. Diese Bilder sind ein Akt von Stärke. Aus der Tiefe sich freischwimmen. Selbstermächtigung. ___________ At first glance, a nude series. Yet its meaning goes much deeper. After a separation, I found myself in a state of being headless, defenseless, colorless - naked, without support. The perspective beneath the water: the body floating, the head unseen. Black and white. Exposed - and thereby inevitably laid bare. This series is less a depiction of the body than a mirror of an inner state. It speaks of the feeling of losing oneself, and of the paradoxical comfort that darkness can offer: being carried, even when orientation is lost. I painted them because I wanted to breathe again. To get my head above water. These artworks are an act of strength. To swim free from the depths. Self-empowerment. | Nachtrag zur Lesung in Bad Rappenau | Uff, man hätte wirklich eine Stecknadeln fallen hören können… Es sass eine ruhige, aufmerksame Zuhörerschaft in einem Kokon, der aus meinen Worten gewebt war. Ich wollte euch eigentlich nur den Schluss zeigen, einen kleinen Auszug aus der Lesung, einen Text, doch Carmens einleitende Worte waren so zauberhaft, dass ich sie mit ins Video geschnitten habe. | Madness | „Madness“ – eine Serie, geboren aus Schmerz, gewachsen aus Chaos. Nach einer Trennung begann ich diese Serie zu malen – nicht, um zu vergessen, sondern um mich wiederzufinden. In jedem Pinselstrich steckt Verletzlichkeit. In jeder Linie ein Stück Heilung. Was als Ausdruck von Verlust begann, wurde zu einem Weg zurück zu mir selbst. Zurück zu meiner Stärke. Weiße Silhouetten spielender Kinder erscheinen vor einem Wirrwarr aus Licht und Farbe – ein visuelles Echo der Welt, wie mein autistischer Sohn sie tagtäglich erlebt: intensiv, komplex, oft überwältigend. Durch Schwarzlicht und eine 3D-Brille wird die Serie zu einer Einladung, die Perspektive zu wechseln. Ein Schritt in seine Wahrnehmung. | roots | I already know the feeling to loose a beloved person. But I’ll never get used to it. Best medicine to me is painting. So I painted my grand uncle at his favorite place as a young guy sitting on the top of the mountains. Not knowing yet what life is holding for him. This man will always have a huge place in my heart and in my life because he brought art and painting to me. There was a painting of red mountains in our house he did. And as a little girl I wished I could paint as good as my uncle. Later we talked hours about art and artists, poems and books and philosophical questions of life. He was the reason I published my poem book last year. And he read it little time before he faded away. I’m proud you were my uncle, my supporter, my inspiration and a rock in our family.
